How do I select the correct Garador C-Type Spring?Updated a month ago

The Garador C-type door was a canopy style door with side extension springs manufactured briefly between 1999 and 2002. The door is most easily identified by the side extension springs with a pulley wheel at the top end and a cast wall bracket in the top corner of the door frame.

There are 6 available spring variants denoting different spring strengths. You can select the required spring from the dropdown menu.

If you do not know which spring variant you need, there are a couple of ways to double check. The spring number may also be on a sticker on the back of the door, e.g. 4734. If there is no sticker, check the coloured banding displayed on the spring itself, with either white, red, or green paint striped across the spring.

  • G230-18-1: 1x White band (current Garador part no: 4733)
  • G230-18-2: 2x White bands (current Garador part no: 4734)
  • G230-18-3: 1x Green band (current Garador part no: 4735)
  • G230-18-4: 2x Green bands (current Garador part no: 4736)
  • G230-18-5: 1x Red bands (current Garador part no: 4737)
  • G230-18-6: 2x Red bands (current Garador part no: 4738)

If the paint has worn off, or it is covered in dirt and grease, you can use our handy spring chart displayed further down the item page which allows you to match the spring strength to your door size.

Before starting, you will need to know:

1. Door material (steel, fibreglass, or timber)

2. Door width and height

3. Door exterior pattern

Once you have this information, consult the spring table for the correct C-type Spring version to use.
