Which weather seal should I use?Updated 9 months ago
We have the largest range of garage door weather seals available. Below I will outline the main weather seals we sell, the problems they resolve, and any additional tools and information you may need.
Garage Door Brush Bottom Seal
Problem it solves: Draughts, leaves, dust and vermin
Description: An easy to install draught excluder, with brush lengths of 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm available to order so you can ensure the correct size for your door. The seal is 2.44m (8ft) and can be cut down shorter if required, and additional lengths can be installed side-to-side if your garage door is longer.
Additional Tools/Fittings Required: Electric drill for drilling holes into aluminium strip, and self tapping screws (or rivets) for fixing to the door.
Garage Door Rubber Bottom Seal
Problem it solves: Draughts, leaves, dust, vermin, and rain
Description: An easy to install rubber blade, with lengths of 30mm and 55mm available to order so you can ensure the correct size for your door. The seal is 2.44m (8ft) and can be cut down shorter if required, and additional lengths can be installed side-to-side if your garage door is longer.
Additional Tools/Fittings Required: Electric drill for drilling holes into aluminium strip, and self tapping screws (or rivets) for fixing to the door.
Brydale X Draught Excluder Threshold
Problem it solves: Draughts, and rain
Description: Designed for access doors rather than garage doors, this item is suitable for inward swinging doors, uneven thresholds and steps. The draught excluder will cover gaps up to 41mm in size and is available in a range of lengths from 76cm (2'6") up to 121.9cm (4'0").
Additional Tools/Fittings Required: Electric drill for drilling holes into the garage door, and screwdriver for included screws.
GaraDry Residential Garage Door Threshold Seals
Problem it solves: Draughts, dust, leaves, debris, rain, insects, vermin and standing water
Description: The GaraDry residential threshold seals are available in sizes from 15mm high to 50mm high, and lengths from 2.21m up to 6.17m. These seals can be cut shorter and joined together using the included adhesive, ensuring that there is a threshold seal for all garage doors. This seal has a weight limit of 2722 kg (6000 lbs) making it suitable for most cars. It is a DIY product with easy installation, please see the video below.
Additional Tools/Fittings Required: A caulking gun (standard size) to use the included adhesive, and a hacksaw if you need to shorten the length.
GaraDry Commercial Garage Door Threshold Seals
Problem it solves: Draughts, dust, leaves, debris, rain, insects, vermin and standing water
Description: The GaraDry commercial threshold seals are available in sizes from 8mm high to 25mm high, and lengths from 1.55m up to 9m (although longer lengths can be arranged, please contact us if required). These seals have a weight limit of 50 tons making it ideal for use with trucks, lorries, vans, tractors, planes, forklifts etc.
Additional Tools / Fittings Required: Electric drill and screw driver for drilling holes into the concrete and installing the screws, 6mm masonry drill bit, tape measure, and hacksaw.
GaraDry Garage Door Top Seal
Problem it solves: Draughts, dust, and rain entering above the door.
Description: Our Garage Door Top Seal has been designed to act as a draught stopper for the gap between the top of the garage door and the frame. It can seal gaps up to 40mm high and they are available in white and black. It is also available in two sizes; 2.44m and 3.05m (supplied as 2 equal lengths at 1.525m). Multiple lengths can be butted together for double-width garage doors.
Additional Tools / Fittings Required: Electric drill and screw driver for fixing the top seal to the frame (screws and washers are included). Tape measure, scissors, hacksaw and pencil also required.
GaraDry Garage Door Side Seal
Problem it solves: Draughts, dust, and rain entering at the side of the door.
Description: Our Garage Door Side Seal has been designed to act as a draught stopper for the gap between the side of the garage door and the frame. It can seal gaps up to 22mm wide and it is available in 3 sizes (5m, 10m, and 20m).
Additional Tools / Fittings Required: Electric drill and screw driver for fixing the side seal to the frame and door (screws and washers are included). Tape measure, scissors, hacksaw and pencil also required.
