Which electric motor do I need to automate my door?Updated 9 months ago
We provide electric motors required to automate the following door types:
- Retractable garage doors (all of the door slides back into the garage),
- Canopy garage doors (third of the door hangs outside, forming a canopy)
- Swing doors (door is side hinged and swings outside, can be 1 or 2 doors)
- Sectional doors (the door consists of 3 or 4 horizontal panels and the slide slides upwards and then back into the garage).
For Retractable and Canopy Doors, you can use the following electric motors
- Sommer Aperto 868 L for single width garage doors (maximum width 4.2m)
- Sommer Aperto 868 LX for double width garage doors (maximum width 6m)
- Sommer Aperto Xbox (550N) for single width garage doors without mains electricity (maximum width 4.2m)
- Sommer Base+ Garage Door Operator for single width garage doors (maximum width 4.5m, maximum weight 120kg).
Please note Canopy Garage Doors require a Bow Arm Converter to be automated. Without this the door will jamb.
For Swing Doors and Gates, you can use the following electric motors
- Twist 350 Swing Gate Operator (1 Leaf Set) for single gates.
- Twist 350 Swing Gate Operator (2 Leaf Set) for double gates.
For Sectional Garage doors
- Sommer Base+ Garage Door Operator for single width garage doors (maximum width 4.5m, maximum weight 120kg).
