How to Change a Lock BarrelUpdated 8 days ago
Most lock barrels are changed in the same way, however, there may be some small differences depending on the model.
A standard lock barrel will have a cam which is released when the door is unlocked.
If the cylinder is in an unlocked position, you need to remove the retaining screw on the lock body to allow the cylinder to drop out. The retaining screw may look like this.

If the cylinder is stuck in the locked position, you will need to drill through the cylinder to release the cam.
